The concern I have about natural gas is one of the processes by which it is extracted. There seems to be some controversy over the process that fractures underground rocks in order to release the gas. The main issue that I have heard mentioned is the potential for the contamination of water supplies. I also think that since the process is relatively new, there may be consequences that are yet unknown. Maybe more study of this method needs to be done before we place too much reliance upon it.
