How Albert Mohler Became the Baptist Pope

How Al Mohler became the Baptist Pope from Bruce Prescott on Vimeo.

When Albert Mohler, Jr. speaks, Southern Baptists listen. Besides serving as President of Southern Seminary since 1993, he has been a key architect of both of the fundamental changes in Southern Baptist life in the last decade -- the 2000 Baptist Faith and Message revision and the 2010 Great Commission Resurgence.

Mohler has certainly left his mark on Southern Baptists. How did he become "the Baptist pope?"

This five minute video provides excerpts from interviews with faculty and staff at Southern Seminary shortly after he became President of the seminary.

Note: The date for the clip of Mohler at the beginning of the video should read 1995 instead of 1993.

Powerful. I especially appreciated Dr. Mohler's very lame rebuttal at the end.
