Jesus faced the same questions by the pharisees, they always wanted to see divine retribution meted out to the crippled or blind. The answer is not to assign blame, but to glorify God when you are helping. It would be easy to say InshAllah, Karma, Joss, Fate, tough luck. Christians offer a helping hand as God intended and a crisis like this helps us show His love and mercy. That is why Jesus answered the pharisees that the young man in question was that way to glorify God. "They shall know you are Christians by your love." Too often the world knows Christians by their judgemental attitudes.
