Powell Warns About a U.S. "Terror Industrial Complex"
Former Secretary of State, General Colin Powell spoke at the University of Oklahoma this afternoon. My son, Will, interviewed Powell for the OU Daily immediately before he entered the hall to give his speech.
Will asked him to expound on a comment he made to GQ Magazine about a "terror industrial complex." He also asked his opinion of the expanded use of private contractors, like Blackwater, in Iraq and the propriety of paying them more than military personnel.

Wasn't Powell a vital cog in the TIC? He'll needs to wear a hairshirt for a long time before he has any kind of moral authority to warn us about those folks.

Powell had his chance to change the course of history. He blew it. He lied. He was suckered. He was complicit. He stuck out his chest. He imploded. He willingly danced to the WHIG tune. He was a puppet. He was forced out of his cabinet post. His conscience kicked in.
Who knows?

The man is a failure. He has nothing to say to us.
Maybe it's just me, but I read the whole GQ interview today and the Terror Industrial Complex comment was not there. Was it removed? I followed the link to your son's article and it was "unavailable". What's going on? Was the comment too Truthy to be allowed?
