Mike Huckabee has been demonstrating his distance from the mainstream lately. Last week, he attended a fundraiser for him at the home of Christian Reconstructionist Steven Hotze. Sunday, he preached at Christian Zionist John Hagee's church.
Hotze thinks Christians have to takeover civil government, set up a Christian theocracy and exercise dominion over all the world for a millenium before Jesus can come again.
Hagee has been encouraging President Bush to bomb Iran in order to usher in the battle of Armageddon and begin a train of events that will permit the imminent return of Jesus.

It is my personal opinion that John Hagee is absolutely correct in his understanding and teaching of scripture.
I disagree with your comment of Pastor Hagee urging the President to bomb Iran in order to usher in the return of Jesus. You should know Jesus will return on his own time-table not that of Pastor Hagee's or anyone else. The facts speak for themselves, John Hagee has in my opinion encouraged such attacks against Iran to protect not only the Jewish People but also the United States.
I also believe that Huckabee could be the man for the job.
Thanks!

This "Christian" Zionism stuff is a gross distortion of the Prophets and the teaching of Jesus and the earliest Christians.
It is a 19th century, uninformed, reading of the Biblical literature. It makes utter nonsense out of the Hebrew Prophets, and is antithetical to the gospel of Jesus.
John Hagee is a Profit of the old school. He is sucking up to the political powers that be. Jeremiah well described his kind, repeatedly in his prophetic messages.
Profit Hagee's visceral hatred of the Muslims is as palpable as it is uninformed. He inflames the Islamists even more. His actions are contributions to exacerbating Middle East hatreds, tensions, and warfare.
He is so stupid that he doesn't understand that the land between the Nile and the Euphrates are now, and for centuries have been, in possession of the children of Abraham. He csn't even read and understand the key text upon which he claims to base his entire enterprise. He falsely assumes that Abraham had one and only one son.
