Carla Hinton, religion reporter for the Daily Oklahoman, interviewed former President Jimmy Carter about his work to unify Baptists and the New Baptist Covenant.
She quotes Carter as saying, "The main purpose of the meeting [the New Baptist Covenant meeting] was to ensure all Baptists — "liberal, moderate and conservative fundamentalists, black, white, Asian and Hispanic” could join forces for good."
