Bush Administration May Be Involved In Interstate Telephone Harassment

Raw Story has posted a report that indicates officials within the Bush administration may be named as conspirators in an interstate telephone harassment scheme.

Harassing hang-up phone calls may be a favorite technique of some Dominionist Christian values voters. I've received my share of phone calls like this before giving speeches and/or hosting special events that challenged their interests.

This doesn't surprise me. Phone games seem to be a tactic that only those with a little extra cash in the coffers could afford to undertake. During a couple of the previous elections here in Arizona we received anonymous recorded messages on our voice mailbox which were attempts to sway voters away from moderate or liberal candidates.

I suspect they were produced by those with religious right tendencies because they contain many of the code words used to call to action (family values, morality, abortion, etc.)

One of our candidates for governor is the former leader of a right wing lobby group. I suspect we'll be subject to more of those types of messages when we get closer to the primary.
