Roberta Stewart, wife of an Army National Guard member who was killed in Afghanistan last year, has been advised that she will have to file suit against the Veterans Administration to get a ruling that will put a symbol of her husband's religion on his memorial plaque.
Meanwhile, a bill pending before the U.S. House Constitution Committee, proposes to cut off awarding attorney's fees to plaintiffs who file successful lawsuits in church-state cases.
