The poem at the base of the Statue of Liberty is called the New Colossus. It is designed after the lighthouse at Pharoas, one of the 7 wonders of the ancient world. The original lighthouse is of the sun goddess. Not only is this abomination combining the Statue of Liberty with the Cross violating the commandment against idolitry, but it is incorporating a pagan goddess with the Cross.
The statue picture is in very bad taste. One thing I find interesting is that so-called "conservative Christians" would want to associate the cross with Lady Liberty who was modeled after a Greek goddess--at least in sculpting style.
It does show the incredible historical revisionism behind the whole "Christian nation" crowd.

That's pretty offensive. What a sick mind to come up with that.

It's just way to easy for these people to equate Christ and his sacrifice with ideas or objects that cannot even exist on the same level.
