Our neo-conservative homeland security chief was on television today asking for more authority to conduct electronic surveillance and secret detentions.
This latest attempt to use the fear of terrorism to secure additional unchecked power and authority, comes on the heels of revelations that U.S. authorities and U.K. authorities were at odds over the timing over the arrests for the recent plot to blow up civilian passenger planes in Britain.
Such revelations give the appearance of confirming liberal suspicions about the timing of the arrests in this latest terrorist plot. Buzzflash's allegation of treason by the administration, however, is over the top.

No, Bruce, if it was up to you and your ilk the terrorists in the UK would have succeeded in blowing up the planes over the Atlantic. We live in a different world now that 9/11 has happened and the Islamic fascists are seeking to kill Americans at will and will do anything to try and destroy our country.
Let me ask you something, do you fear the Islamic fascists more or the Neo-Cons in the Bush Administration? Your answer to that question will say a lot about what you believe!

I fear the Christo-fascists being used by the neo-cons more than I fear either of the above.
They do a lot that undermines the credibility of the gospel that I've been called to proclaim.
Conservative Christians are wonderful. I have many fellow church members that are much more conservative than I am, and we love each other and work together for Christ despite our differences. I DO have a problem with those Christians who have abandoned the who have replaced Christ with Bush and the Bible with the Republican Party platform.
You can have all the morals or "family values" you could possible have - but without Christ we are still lost, without love we are just so much background noise.
We are NOT all supposed to agree with each other. That is a lie perpetrated by men who seek to control us. God gave us each a free will and a brain and HIs word so that we can test those who come along spouting false words. There are too many Christians today willing to ignore what God gave us in return for politics. This is what I fear most.
