Christians for Change are asking Texas Governor Rick Perry to call a special session of the Texas State Legislature to solve the public school financing crisis in that state.
Anyone interested in observing what happens to a state when religious supremecists are ascendant should watch politics in Texas closely. Religious supremecists are not friends of public schools.

Today it looks will they are going to close the school district that the state had to take over. They will have to bus the kids to another school district. I may not spell it right but it is the Wilmer-Hutchson district. They will be out of money by the first of the month and they have a lot of outstanding loans. They can't have school without very large classes. I don't know if the state has any laws like NM that limit the size of elementary classes. If they don't they should and of the the Governor hasn't called a special session yet. They call the distribution of state funds to districts the robin hood plan. NM has used this system for a very long time it works very well. the only draw back is that the large districts just short changed some. Their ability to increase local taxes for schools are greater than the small ones. It's amazing that NM is ahead of Texas and they call NM a banana republic.
