CEO's Missing in Action

Thomas Friedman's op-ed in today's New York Times hits the nail on the head.

Where are American CEO's who have a grasp of the common good?

I have an idea where you can find the answer. Get a copy of Lou Dubose and Jan Reid's The Hammer: Tom Delay: God, Money and the Rise of the Republican Congress and read the chapter about how Delay trained "K Street" lobbyists to fetch water for the Republican leadership.

These are the business majors that were in college under Reagan and his "Me first, last and only" philosophy. They cut their teeth with Michael Eichorn's example of wrecking Eastern Airlines. Can't expect these leopards to change their spots.
